So, yet another day with no work to do. Seriously, I might actually be glad I'm not being paid right now because I would feel like I'm cheating them out of money. My boss is ill today and still hasn't got back to me about the stuff I've written (which he has had since Friday) and I have nothing else lined up for me. This also means that I can't ask him about working from home tomorrow for my driving lesson.
*sigh*
Not that I'm complaining really. It has given me time to work on my fic for ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) apocabigbang and Arthur and Merlin are finally about to meet (I'm only 14k words in... it's not like they took a long time or anything. *sigh* I sense serious editing to be done).
I actually like what I'm writing for it as well. I have killed off so many people but it is the apocalypse, after all. People are supposed to die. Horribly... and have their intestines torn out... and be burnt to death...
Anyway, I should get back to 'work'... maybe I'll finally find something to do.
Oh, and because my computer was screwing up yesterday and wouldn't let me post it:

Not 'as I watch' today because I have decided that I will watch an episode of Merlin ALL THE WAY THROUGH WITHOUT PAUSING... which I didn't manage, but I did only pause it twice, which is a great improvement on the week before last and the week before that.

Hiatus until 21st Jan '10. What is that all about? That is far too long. Far, far too long.
In other things: I should never be allowed on the RSC site, I spent about ten minutes on there and I have already decided that I need to see Arabian Nights, As You Like It and Morte D'Arthur (Seriously need to see that. My Arthuriana geek (and my Merlin geek) are jumping around happily). Admittedly you can get reasonable tickets for £20, but still. I like theatre too much, and I like Shakespeare FAR too much (and As You Like It is my favourite play and I've only ever seen it in German.)
So yes, in June and July I am planning to start becoming an avid theatre goer.

Woke up and hated what I'd written the day before. Then proceeded to write new stuff anyway and now three of my five main characters have been introduced (although the FMC is giving me trouble) and my amazingly cool Secondary-MMC is apparently harbouring a huge epic man crush on my MMC. This is hilarious because my MMC is really quite useless... and straight, while my 2MMC is actually quite awesome and he's the one that's going to do all the fighting (and get them out of one of the curses in an innovative and awesome manner) and has a back story with epic amounts of win in it. I think his man crush is probably his flaw as a character. That and his inability to do the sensible thing if he's ever faced with a risk... which might be the same thing. And also the fact that morally, he's not really on the good side. I always wanted to know why he was friends with my MMC and hadn't just killed him already, I guess this is why. It also explains... a hell of a lot.
Thing is, I didn't know about this until this morning, which sort of sucks...
My word count is doing okay, though. ^_^

Hallowe'en party last night was awesome (might even make it to epic proportions soon, Fred. ^_^)
Didn't get to bed until 4am, which, y'know, is always the sign of a good party. There were also snickerdoodles (which were epic ^_^ yay!) And though I didn't have a camera, there were many photographs taken... few of which I shall be tagged on because their owners do not know me. ^_^ bwahahahaaa!
And, on the other side of the coin (didja see what I did there?) I did miss Merlin, but I've take to watching it by iplayer now anyway, so that's not so bad. Although it does mean that I stop it when I get annoyed/embarrassed/scared (not that I get scared at Merlin... at all. I'm twenty one years old, that would be ridiculous). So that's going to be all shiny new for me tonight (Whoop!)
Then, of course we come to the fact that NANOWRIMO HAS BEGUN!
Can I get a HELL YEAH, people? Who's already behind? Who has had an early lucky streak and is ahead of schedule? Who has thrown their carefully planned plot to the wind and started afresh with 'it was a dark and stormy night'?
I was away from my computer so I had to write my prologue longhand (and partially on a bus, which means my handwriting gets a little all over the place) and then I had to type it up.
It got a little more complicated than I had planned: it was only going to be the fairy tale that explains the premise of the story... but then it became the fairy tale that explains the fairy tale that explains the premise of the story. So I have 3627 words and I've only just begun to get to the plot of the actual story part of the story. But my prologue is very fairy tale. It has a man who has turned into a crow, a great sorcerer and a princess who accidentally smashes truth up into millions of tiny shards.
Well, I said it was complicated. And it also begins with Once Upon a Time, so that makes my November.

Every time I watch the film King Arthur (yes, the one with Clive Owen) I am amazed at how blatant the subtext is. They aren't even trying to hide it. The chemistry between Lancelot and Arthur is the thing that makes that film. The lack of chemistry between Arthur and Guinevere is what kills it.
That and Tristan.
Yet, the world is distinctly lacking in fanfic for them (and for Gawain and Galahad, for crying out loud!) I think I've read all the stuff out there a million times already.
( And the ending always irritates me. (Spoilers) )
Although, I have now decided that I'm having Tristan in my apocafic be a pick pocket. (Srsly, Tristan in the film = awesomeness. 'Hmm, this is a nice goblet, I think I'll take it.' 'Hmm... nice box, thank you very much.' His petty theft makes me happy. Take everything not nailed down, fill your boots with soup and go for the cheese, 'cause kissing don't last.)

I am exhausted.
My reel_merlin has sapped my energy and left me a zombie-like husk of a person.
Well, not exactly. html coding the translation for the OE in my reel_merlin has broken my mind. I swear, if I ever use a secondary language again I am NOT linking to the translation. People can just figure out how to find it for themselves. (I haven't even checked that the links are alright. Bah... if they're not someone will tell me sooner or later).
I will post about Spn and the distinct lack of Merlin (and other less happy things) sometime soon, but for now I am tired and I wish I had a bar of chocolate.
(seriously, I spent the morning giving it the once over (and ADDING SCENES, wtf brain?) and the afternoon coding... now I am going to read other merlin fic and embrace the fact that I don't have to care about whether that has coding glitches and typos.

You know when you have an idea for a scene to write in your head and then you realise 'Aargh, this has the cheese value of the worst hollywood film' and it's not supposed to be a cheesy fic.

Awesomeness though - I just got Unseen Academicals at half price, and I paid with book tokens so YAY my bank balance hasn't even gone down (except for that amazon order I made earlier, but the most expensive item in that was a Christmas present.
